The SonoShield Defender was designed as a preclinical system to improve implanted electrode longevity for chronic use by delivering a focused acoustic field that produces a neuro-protective environment around implanted electrodes. The SonoShield Defender treatment improves electrode performance (signal-to-noise, singleunit detection) and impacts microglia motility in the days following electrode implantation.

Prolonging Implant Efficacy

Our Innovation, Your Research Breakthroughs

We want to implant these devices to be able to record the brain activity, and by recording the brain activity, we can eventually learn how to treat motor function in people who have spinal cord injury or work to treat vision in patients who are blind.
